Tuesday, September 30, 2008 from 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM (GMT)
Our experience with web-based projects (such as Films for Learning and SciCast) has highlighted the problems which arise with Intellectual Property (IP) laws when young people share their films with their peers. Often these films use unlicensed graphics or music, meaning that the material cannot be published. Yet online peer-to-peer learning can be a powerful, engaging and cost-effective way for young people to learn. At this seminar, we will be discussing: You will be asked to debate the best approaches to addressing the IP issues for young people and to come up with a list of recommendations which NESTA will disseminate via our website. This event is invitation only; if you'd like to nominate a colleague or contact to attend, please contact us first.
